How does acupuncture differ from dry-needling?
Dry needling is founded upon acupuncture by Western medicine practitioners. It is a simplified version of acupuncture which tends to usually only have temporary relief from things such as aches and pains. We are fully trained in medical acupuncture and prepared to treat you by not only alleviating pain and other symptoms but correcting the underlying cause of the condition to get you better balanced and feeling great!
What is acupuncture?
The foundation of acupuncture is based on the scientific development that we as humans are complex bioelectric systems. It is a generally safe, therapeutic Chinese based technique that has been used for thousands of years. Modern practitioners use extremely small needles, about as thick as a hair strand, which are inserted into specific points on the body, called acupoints. These specific acupoints are gateways into specific energy channels, also known as meridians. Meridians conduct life-force energy, or Qi (pronounced “chee”), in and around all the parts of your body.
There are twelve main traceable meridians, of which course through or to organs, i.e. stomach meridian, liver meridian, etc. If the meridians become congested or blocked, it can result in energetic imbalances which can lead to acute and chronic disorders.
The idea is that the needles’ penetration will restore balance and proper flow of Qi, allowing the body to return to normal functioning and stability naturally. Side effects are usually minimal with acupuncture, but can include soreness around the needle site or bruising.
We use chiropractic care to correct the cause of pain instead of just treating symptoms.
Benefits include, but are not limited to:
- spinal and extremity pain relief
- headache relief
- increased mobility and range of motion
- decreased stiffness and muscular spasms
- arthritic joint pain relief
- increased joint health
- increased performance and energy
- increased sense of well being and relaxation
- increased balance and coordination
- reduced degeneration and risk of injury
- enhanced tissue healing
- decreased tissue inflammation
How does chiropractic differ from a medical approach?
Though we believe there is a place for a medical approach and respect that path, chiropractors identify and correct the actual cause of the pain, ailment, or disorder to promote the healing process. In contrast, medical doctors usually focus on only treating the mere symptoms of the patient’s complaint. For example, if the symptom of pain is present, our body is telling us that something isn’t quite right and it needs attention. Dulling the pain with medication only silences the message. By correcting the cause of the pain, ailment, or disorder, we usually see that the long-term benefits far outweigh those of only treating the symptoms.
What is chiropractic?
Chiropractic is founded on the idea that we are self-healing organisms. Chiropractic adjustments correct the spinal segment so that communication between the brain and body can promote healing. It is a natural form of healthcare that focuses on the relationship of the nervous system and body. The principle is based on the idea that if a spinal segment is misaligned, then the nerve exiting that spinal segment can’t optimally deliver messages to the body from the brain. In other words, the joints of the spine lock up, limiting range of motion. Spinal joint restriction or misalignment results in irritation or pressure at the spinal nerve. Even the slightest misalignments, called subluxations of the spine, can cause poor health or function.
Events such as automobile accidents, sports injuries, repetitive work, and stress are the most common occurrences that can overwhelm the body’s ability to adapt and cause subluxations. Low back pain, sciatica, disc injuries, neck pain, headaches, muscle aches, extremity joint pain and many other symptoms are the most common complaints treated with chiropractic. Side effects are usually minimal with adjustments; slight soreness is most often the common side effect.
Due to chiropractic’s opioid-free, cost-effective approach to care, chiropractic has and continues to be, proven in scientific studies as an effective treatment for many types of pain without the risks of prescription painkillers.
We use the research-based NAET method to identify sensitivities and get you back to optimal health.
The most common conditions we treat in our office include seasonal allergies, chronic sinus issues, congestion, headaches and migraines, digestive issues, IBS, Crohn’s, Celiac, gluten, lactose and dairy intolerances, acid reflux, anaphylaxis, autoimmune disorders, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, asthma/emphysema, fibromyalgia, sleep disorders, insomnia, lack of energy, pre/post menopausal issues, hot flashes, hormonal imbalances, thyroid issues, depression, anxiety, and autism.
How does NAET compare to other allergy treatment options?
NAET is at least 95% sensitive so the testing process can detect those slight sensitivities that the other tests simply can not. Most people are familiar with allergy shots as treatment options. Your doctor will recommend a treatment plan right for you, but most people receive those once or twice a week for a number of years. You’re going to spend a lot of time (and money!) doing that. In addition, those can take up to five years to take full effect; that is turtle’s pace! (Not to mention those awful painful needles they stick you with over and over again!)
The classic needle prick test, blood work, or the scratch test are only about 60-70% sensitive. They’re just simply not sensitive enough to detect smaller and more slight allergies that you may not even know you have, so you will have a lot of false negatives with those tests.
NAET works with the brain and body systems directly to clear sensitivities at light speed. It also eliminates the use of painful needles, shots, and medications! This is your opportunity to experience a better quality of life and save your money on those on-going, unhelpful medications!
What is NAET and how does it work?
NAET, short for Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Technique, is a completely safe and non-invasive allergy testing and treatment option for all ages, from cradle to grave. It’s even safe for pregnant moms! It is 100% painless – a revolutionary treatment that is gentle and effective. NAET combines Kinesiology (Muscle Responsive Testing), Chiropractic (spinal nerve stimulation WITHOUT adjusting) and Oriental Medicine (Acupressure) to clear allergic reactions through a reprogramming of the brain.
Research has shown that when major allergies are eliminated and the immune system is strengthened, the body resumes normal healing and homeostasis. The basic idea is that we have cellular memory. Our allergies are actually physical manifestations of a memory for being sensitive to something. When we neutralize that memory, per se, we actually clear an allergy. By stimulating the spinal nerves and specific acupressure points in the presence of an allergen, we are desensitizing our bodies and minds to this said allergen. It sounds confusing, but it’s really quite simple.
Muscle testing tells us which allergens are weak. We go through an easy, systematic muscle testing process to determine what needs to be treated, or what items are sensitive. After we’ve cleared items, we muscle test again to ensure the treatment worked and those sensitivities are no longer present.
